Tragedies, illnesses, wars, pains, and confusion are not JESUS’ will for us

We are often confused and we blame GOD for the misfortunes that we experience; where in fact, we are the ones to be blamed because we don’t communicate with Him and pray. We don’t ask JESUS to protect us instead we just ignore Him and just come to Him and pray when we are in trouble or in a dreadful situation. But, when we are happy we tend to forget Him.
Now, are tragedies, illnesses, wars, pains, and confusion JESUS' will for us? The answer is NO. It is written in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Tragedies are works of the enemy, the devil. Just like what happened to Job in the Bible. Satan tested Job and challenged JESUS that if he will hurt Job, Job will turn against JESUS. JESUS permitted Satan with a condition not to take away Job’s life. But Satan did not understand that JESUS delivered Job from all his pains and gave back to him what he lost in the end because He loves Job so much. (Job Chapters 1-42). We must understand that JESUS, our God is a good and loving God (Nahum 1:7).

Other tragedies like wars, abuse, and vehicular accidents most of the time are just a result of misuse of human free will, wickedness, the absence of JESUS in our hearts and recklessness. On the other hand, illnesses are a common result of carelessness and our body's deterioration. Also, calamities like an earthquake are just a result of movement and collision of the earth's tectonic plates. Moreover, confusion is not JESUS' will for us. Reflect on this verse in 1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV),“For GOD is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
This is JESUS' perfect plan and will for us written in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “For I know the plans I have for you says the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” See, JESUS' plan for us is not to harm us. His plan is always for our good. JESUS doesn't take pleasure in causing us grief or pain. Lamentations 3:31-33 say, “The LORD is merciful and will not reject us forever. He may bring us sorrow but His love is sure and strong. He takes no pleasure in causing us grief or pain.
Tragedies, illnesses, wars, and pains happen so that we will know and desire what is good. And, when we know and desire it, it will be magnified in our hearts. When it is magnified, we believe in it. When we believe in it, we should pray for it. And when we pray for it, JESUS will do it (John 14:14). For example, you are sick and you desire good health and that is good, then you pray for good health and JESUS will answer your prayer because He promised us in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore us to health.

Tragedies, illnesses, wars, and pains also happen so that we will desire peace and goodness. Goodness includes a good response to GOD for the misfortunes that happened to us. The good response should be to praise and thank GOD that in spite of all the tragedies in life, we are still alive and praise Him for the life that He provides. Check this verse in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 which say, “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.  Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.” These verses clearly reveal that we experience problems and tests in life so that we will not rely on ourselves but on JESUS who raises the dead. Whenever we are tested and we face problems like illnesses and pains we should just have to pray and trust that the LORD will deliver us and set us free from all those trials because His plans are for our own good which is to promote us and to develop endurance, strengthen our faith and give us joy once the challenged has been accomplished. Check this verse in Romans 8:18, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

Be inspired by these verses below. They reveal JESUS’ great love for us that He promised to never leave us and always protect us.

JESUS loves us so much

Romans 5:8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

JESUS will never leave us.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Luke 12:32 “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

JESUS will always protect us

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 54:17  no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”

Psalm 121:7-8   The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 91:1-3 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”  For he will deliver you from the snare of the Fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Generally, it is not JESUS' will to harm us, to cause us grief and pain but to love us, take care of us, save us and protect us. Adversities happen because JESUS is not in our hearts and we don't pray. So invite Him into your heart now and make Him your Lord and Savior and you'll experience a safe, secure and happy life. God bless and I love you with the love of the LORD. Stay safe and sound. Don't forget to pray. All glory, honor, and highest praises are unto JESUS, our Great Lord, and Savior for helping me write this piece. Amen.

Is JESUS our GOD?

Have you ever asked yourself who JESUS is? And, have you ever wondered if He is our GOD?  If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. By the way, I used to believe that the LORD JESUS is just the Son of GOD and not GOD Himself. But, after attending some church services in a Christian Pentecostal church in college, I started to question who the real GOD is and what is His Name. Fortunately, last night that question was answered and revealed to me by the LORD JESUS. As I was reading an article about baby JESUS on the Bible app for kids which is called Superbook, I ran across a verse found in 1 Corinthians 12:3 which says tbis, "So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse JESUS, and no one can say JESUS is LORD, except by the HOLY SPIRIT." We can learn from this Bible verse that JESUS is our One and Only True Living GOD. And, no one can confess that He is GOD except when the person is guided by the Holy Spirit. On the other han...

The Gift of Salvation: The True Meaning of Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching and some people think Christmas is about receiving gifts. They think about the presents, the decorations, and the parties. They are missing out on what Christmas is really about. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. It's about knowing that the world is full of despair and knowing that there is someone out there waiting to save you. It's about not being alone. It's about waiting for someone to come and show you the true meaning of Christmas. And only JESUS has made the biggest move to save us from all the troubles that we experience everyday. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. This is the reason why the Christmas tree is decorated with evergreen and holly, because these plants represent eternal life. The Christmas tree is also decorated with other greenery because it represents the nature of the world. The Christmas tree is decorated with lights and ornaments, because they represent the light o...

What is JESUS’ will for us?

I spent my life looking for answers on what is JESUS’ will for me and what should I do with my life. I yearn for a happy, content and fulfilled life and I have this deep longing inside me for a better purpose. Until one night, while I was praying JESUS revealed to me His will. He told me that His will is to save us because He loves us so much. Check this verse in  1 Timothy 2:3-4 which say, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Since JESUS’ ultimate will is to save us, He wants us to receive His gift of salvation. We first have to believe that He died on the cross to save us from hell and sin. We should as well make a firm decision to turn away from sin and obey Him. Then we should establish a loving and faithful relationship with Him above others. Take note of this verse in Matthew 22:37-38 which say, “ And he said to him,   “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with a...
