How to be happy the godly way?

Many of us try to seek happiness in our jobs, friends, family, lovers, hobbies, sex, money and material possessions. But all these don't guarantee a real and lasting happiness. Now, how do we define happiness? For me, happiness is loving JESUS and knowing that HE loves me so much that HE died on the cross just for me to be saved. It is also having the knowledge that HE walks with me every day and comforts me. It is having peace of mind and joy as I am being contented and satisfied with my present situation as well. Moreover, it is having a loving and faithful relationship with CHRIST. And, most of all it is being obedient to CHRIST. When you live an obedient life, JESUS will reveal Himself to you and accompany you. His constant presence will give you insurmountable joy.

Here are four secrets to happiness that I learned through personal experience and practice:

1. Believe and Accept JESUS CHRIST as your Personal Lord and Savior. Invite JESUS to live in your heart. This is the first step to being happy. JESUS is our joy-giver as reflected in this verse John: 15:11,
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. He is the source of all joy and happiness so we should cling to Him.

2. Obey JESUS' commandment that is to love Him. Love JESUS first. Consider this verse, Matthew 22:37,
Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' Make pleasing JESUS your priority. If you are to decide on something, ask yourself if it would please HIM or not, if not, don't do it.  JESUS added this verse John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commands”. If you keep and obey HIS commands, you will surely be happy as stated in Luke 11:28“He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” It is also clearly stated in Psalms 112:1 that those who honor the LORD and obey Him are happy. This is very true. Believe me. I become happy since I commit myself to following all of JESUS’ commands. Meditate on this verse found in Psalms 112:1, "Happy is the person who honors the LORD, who takes pleasure in obeying His commands". JESUS also revealed to us the secret to enjoying life through this verse in Psalms 34: 12-14, "Would you like to enjoy life? Do you want long life and happiness? Then keep from speaking evil and from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good; strive for peace with all your heart."

3. Love your neighbor. You will feel happy when you give, help, understand, encourage and forgive others. But here's a reminder, when you love people don't expect them to love you back. You will be hurt and disappointed if you expect. People fail. Instead, put your trust in the LORD. Reflect on this verse found in Psalm 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

4. Love yourself. If you think it is wrong, don't do it. You won't be happy if guilt and shame are in your system. Guilt makes you sad. Stop sinning. You don’t want to be in hell, right? So love yourself.

All in all, take delight in having a loving relationship with CHRIST and obey His laws in the Bible and HE will surely make you happy. Think about this verse found in Psalm 19:8: "The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes." God bless. I hope these simple secrets to happiness will inspire you to move closer to JESUS. I love you with the love of the LORD. Praise is unto JESUS for inspiring me to share these secrets to happiness.

What GOD likes and dislikes

While I was listening to the song "You are Holy (Prince of Peace)" by Michael W. Smith last month, I came across with the lyrics that says "You're the great I am". Upon hearing it, I forgot that the LORD is the Great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14) and I started doubting. But the LORD reminded me that it's Him and that I should not doubt Him because He dislikes a doubtful servant. So, to help you increase your knowledge of Him and know how to love Him, let me tell you the things that He likes and dislikes. Listed below are the things He likes and dislikes. 8 Things GOD likes 1. He likes us. It is said in John 3:16 that GOD loves the world. It means He loves or like us because we are His creations. He gave us His own breath for us to live. 2. He likes a cheerful giver. It is written in second 2 Corinthians 9:7 that GOD loves a cheerful giver. Therefore we should freely give and share whatever we have to our brothers and sisters that are ...

Best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love that JESUS taught me

Oftentimes we fell in love with someone who does not love us back either because they are not interested in us or is already committed to someone else. This kind of situation is heartbreaking. And, it is hard for our minds and hearts to accept the truth that we are not loved back. We kept on expecting and hoping that someday the person we love will reciprocate the feeling we have for them. But, the more you hope and expect, the more you become hurt until one day you find the courage to tell yourself, ‘this is enough I have to move on’. So, what are the best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love? Here they are: 1. Believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and Savior. This is the first step to moving on. By doing this, your focus is shifted from the person you love, to the LORD. If you are not a believer or a Christian yet, you should first believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR. You can pray this prayer: “LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the On...

Seven proofs that JESUS is GOD

I woke up this dawn feeling hungry, so I cooked some Ramen noodles and ate. After eating, I went back to bed to continue sleeping but I heard the Voice of the LORD telling me to write an article about the Seven proofs that JESUS is our One True GOD. So I prayed. I told Him that I am willing and His will be done and I asked Him to give me knowledge on what are those seven proofs that He is saying. These are the seven proofs that He gave me. 1. He created the world, us, and everything around us. Colossians 1:16 says this, " For by Him (JESUS) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: " See, it is stated clearly here that all things were created by Him and for Him. JESUS is our Creator. He is our Father and our GOD.  2. He is the Word. It is said in John 1:1 that , " In the beginning was the Wo...
