Reflection on Matthew 4:4

In this verse in Matthew 4:4, JESUS was being tempted by Satan while He was fasting for forty days and forty nights in the wilderness. Satan tested JESUS that if He is hungry and if He is the real Son of GOD, He should turn the stones into bread. But JESUS replied that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of GOD.

What did JESUS mean by His reply? He wants to convey that we cannot live by merely eating. There is more to life than food and material things. He emphasized that we also need to feed our mind and spirit with Spiritual food. And, that Spiritual food is God's Word or God's commands and laws written in the Bible. We should fill our minds and hearts with God's Word found in the Bible in order for us to truly live. Every decision and move we make should be based on God's will. God's will means God's commands. We should always make sure that every decision will please and bring glory to CHRIST (Isaiah 43:7).

Like JESUS, our top priority would be to follow God's commands rather than satisfying our stomach. Consider this, JESUS was in the wilderness to fast and that was His purpose that time. Remember when JESUS said in John 4:34, "My food," said JESUS "is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.” So we should make following God’s will our food too. Food means one of our important needs. We should consider God’s will as our important need to live a healthy and fulfilled life. We should do what God requires of us. We should align our priorities with God's will.

So, it is important to read our Bible night and day (Joshua 1:9) for it is the guide to life and the Words in it are Spirit and life (John 6:63). We should also apply what we have read in the Bible to our daily lives especially when responding to a specific situation and making decisions. Moreover, we should listen to our Pastor's sermon every Sunday for faith comes by hearing God's word. Upon knowing this, we should obey what we have heard and read. God bless! I love you with the love of the LORD.

What GOD likes and dislikes

While I was listening to the song "You are Holy (Prince of Peace)" by Michael W. Smith last month, I came across with the lyrics that says "You're the great I am". Upon hearing it, I forgot that the LORD is the Great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14) and I started doubting. But the LORD reminded me that it's Him and that I should not doubt Him because He dislikes a doubtful servant. So, to help you increase your knowledge of Him and know how to love Him, let me tell you the things that He likes and dislikes. Listed below are the things He likes and dislikes. 8 Things GOD likes 1. He likes us. It is said in John 3:16 that GOD loves the world. It means He loves or like us because we are His creations. He gave us His own breath for us to live. 2. He likes a cheerful giver. It is written in second 2 Corinthians 9:7 that GOD loves a cheerful giver. Therefore we should freely give and share whatever we have to our brothers and sisters that are ...

Best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love that JESUS taught me

Oftentimes we fell in love with someone who does not love us back either because they are not interested in us or is already committed to someone else. This kind of situation is heartbreaking. And, it is hard for our minds and hearts to accept the truth that we are not loved back. We kept on expecting and hoping that someday the person we love will reciprocate the feeling we have for them. But, the more you hope and expect, the more you become hurt until one day you find the courage to tell yourself, ‘this is enough I have to move on’. So, what are the best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love? Here they are: 1. Believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and Savior. This is the first step to moving on. By doing this, your focus is shifted from the person you love, to the LORD. If you are not a believer or a Christian yet, you should first believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR. You can pray this prayer: “LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the On...

Seven proofs that JESUS is GOD

I woke up this dawn feeling hungry, so I cooked some Ramen noodles and ate. After eating, I went back to bed to continue sleeping but I heard the Voice of the LORD telling me to write an article about the Seven proofs that JESUS is our One True GOD. So I prayed. I told Him that I am willing and His will be done and I asked Him to give me knowledge on what are those seven proofs that He is saying. These are the seven proofs that He gave me. 1. He created the world, us, and everything around us. Colossians 1:16 says this, " For by Him (JESUS) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: " See, it is stated clearly here that all things were created by Him and for Him. JESUS is our Creator. He is our Father and our GOD.  2. He is the Word. It is said in John 1:1 that , " In the beginning was the Wo...
