JESUS, our One and Only True Living GOD

Have you tried asking yourself about who GOD is and what is His name? If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. I am one of those who earnestly seek God and His kingdom. I asked who the real GOD is and fortunately, after several years of seeking, I found the answer. I joined a Christian Pentecostal church in our community in the Philippines in August of 2012. Right after I started attending church service, I underwent an assimilation process about JESUS and during that process, I accepted JESUS as my Lord and Savior. I had my water baptism in September 2013.

Additionally, in 2014, I joined a public group on Facebook called JESUS CHRIST is GOD. The members of that group kept posting and confessing that JESUS is GOD. I was so interested to know JESUS more and so I messaged one of the members and asked him who is JESUS and he replied that JESUS is our One and Only True God. It can be found in 1 John 5:20 NKJV: "And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life". Upon knowing this, I started believing that JESUS is our one true God.

However, sometimes I am confused because of the Holy Trinity doctrine. So I searched the scriptures and asked the Lord JESUS to reveal the truth to me. Until one midnight when I was reading the Bible, the Lord revealed that there is Only One God as found in Mark 12:29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one”. He also gave me this verse in Isaiah 44:6 which says, “This is what the LORD says, Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the First and the Last; apart from me there is no GOD.” Moreover, one night while contemplating on these verses in Revelation 1:17-18 “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades". He said, in Isaiah 44:6 and in Revelation 1:17-18 that He is first and the last. He is the FIRST and no one is above Him. He is our FATHER and the ALMIGHTY GOD, the ONE and ONLY TRUE LIVING GOD (1John 5:20). Nothing comes before the FIRST. He does not have a Father instead He is the FATHER robed in flesh. Notice He also says ‘I was dead and now look I am alive forever and ever’. No one died for us except for JESUS. The Revelation tells us that JESUS CHRIST is the FIRST and the LAST and HE is the only GOD, apart from Him, there is no GOD. We have one GOD and His Name is JESUS. He is called the Father, as it is written in Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, EVERLASTING FATHER, Prince of Peace". He was called the Son of GOD when HE walked on earth as God incarnate (Luke 8:28) and He is called the Holy Spirit (John 14:25). JESUS is the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and the Holy Spirit in sanctification and in Him, we are complete (Colossians 2:10).

JESUS revealed again to me one night that HE is the Father through these verses: John 14:6-9  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”  Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? He added this verse in John 10:30 “I and the Father are one”.

What strengthened my faith much was when one night, I asked the LORD what He looks like. His reply was this, "I have the face of JESUS CHRIST". So it means JESUS is our One True God. Oh, what a wonderful night it was! Thank you so much LORD JESUS for revealing yourself to me. This truth is undeniable. It gives me peace and joy. The LORD is to be praised for His goodness and mercy. Surely He reveals Himself to those who earnestly seek Him. 

There was another instance when JESUS revealed to me that HE is our One True God by reminding me of this verse in Matthew 4:5-7, “Then the devil took Him (JESUS) into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to Him. ‘If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down for it is written: He shall give His angels charge over you and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone’. JESUS said to him, ‘It is written again, you shall not tempt the LORD your GOD. In the above-mentioned verses, JESUS revealed that HE is our LORD and GOD by telling Satan not to tempt the LORD your GOD and that GOD was Him because Satan was tempting HIM. Oh, what a wonderful night it was when JESUS revealed this secret to me. Praise and glory are unto HIM for revealing this truth to me.

JESUS increased my faith more when I was reading an Australian religious magazine when we were on vacation in the Philippines. It was revealed in the article that JESUS is the GOD of the Old Testament who guided our ancestors as Pillar of Clouds and freed them from slavery and brought them to the Promised Land. It is found in 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 NIV. It says, “For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that ROCK was CHRIST. Exodus 13:21-22 supports the above-mentioned verses. "By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” With these verses, it is revealed that JESUS was the GOD of the Old Testament and He was the One who guided our ancestors as the pillar of clouds on the way to the Promised Land.

Another undeniable truth about JESUS is HE is our Creator. The following verses below prove this to be true. Hebrews 1:10 NIV: He also says, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. One more verse that proves JESUS is our Creator is found in Colossians 1:16 KJV, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:

Also, it is stated in Titus 2:13 that JESUS is our Great God and Savior. Titus 2:13 says, “While we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our GREAT GOD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST’. Isaiah 44:24 also says, “I am the LORD your Savior; I am the One who created you. I am the LORD, the creator of all things. I alone stretched out the heavens; when I made the earth, no one helped me.

Another verse that proves JESUS is GOD is found in Acts 20:28 KJV. It says, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." In this verse, it is clearly stated that GOD purchased the church with His own blood. No one died for us and shed His blood for us except for JESUS and He is called GOD in this verse. This simply means that JESUS is GOD.

To cap it all, JESUS is our One and Only True Living GOD. So, my earnest prayer for you my dear reader is that you will also know JESUS and believe in these truths that I presented so that we will live in eternity with HIM. Believe and receive JESUS as your Lord and Savior. Repent, turn to Christ and attend a Bible-based church. Read your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with truths and guide you in your Christian journey. Invite JESUS to live in your heart and obey His commands found in the Bible.
