What GOD likes and dislikes

While I was listening to the song "You are Holy (Prince of Peace)" by Michael W. Smith last month, I came across with the lyrics that says "You're the great I am". Upon hearing it, I forgot that the LORD is the Great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14) and I started doubting. But the LORD reminded me that it's Him and that I should not doubt Him because He dislikes a doubtful servant. So, to help you increase your knowledge of Him and know how to love Him, let me tell you the things that He likes and dislikes. Listed below are the things He likes and dislikes.

8 Things GOD likes

1. He likes us.
It is said in John 3:16 that GOD loves the world. It means He loves or like us because we are His creations. He gave us His own breath for us to live.

2. He likes a cheerful giver.
It is written in second 2 Corinthians 9:7 that GOD loves a cheerful giver. Therefore we should freely give and share whatever we have to our brothers and sisters that are in need.

3. He likes justice.
The LORD is just so He loves justice. He wants justice to prevail among us all.

4. He likes righteousness.
The LORD JESUS himself is righteous. Righteousness is His scepter and it dwells on His throne.

5. He likes those who love Him.
The LORD JESUS Himself said in Proverbs 8:17 this, "I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me."

6. He likes those who obey Him.
The LORD JESUS promised us in Isaiah 1:19 this, "If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land." This promise only shows that the LORD loves those who obey Him that He even rewards them with the best food of the land. That's how good and faithful the LORD JESUS is.

7. He likes those who fear Him.
Psalm 147:11 says this, "the LORD delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love." So, let us fear Him for He is the One who can punish us eternally in the lake of fire. In other words let us submit to His Lordship and do everything to reject sin and obey Him.

8. He likes those who make Him smile.
Proverbs chapter three says that we should be loyal and faithful to the LORD and refuse to do wrong. If we do, the LORD will be pleased with us and He will smile with our deeds and attitudes. People who fulfill GOD's purpose for their lives make GOD smile and the LORD likes them. One good example is when you share your talents and use it for the glory of GOD and the benefit of mankind.

8 Things GOD dislikes

Proverbs chapter six verses 16 to 19 say this:
There are six things the Lord hates,
    yes, seven[a] are an abomination to him;

1. Haughty eyes,
This reminds us that we should not look down on others as if we are better than them. The LORD Himself reveals in James 4:6 that he resists the proud but gives grace unto the humble.

2. A lying tongue,
The LORD JESUS, our Great GOD and SAVIOR who cannot lie according to Titus 1:2 hates lying so much.

3. Hands that shed innocent blood,
The LORD JESUS says this in Isaiah 1:15, "And when you spread forth your hand, I will hide my eyes from you: when you make many prayers, i will not hear: your hands are full of blood."

4. A heart that plots wicked schemes,
The LORD wants to remind us that we should not think of how we can hurt others. For He said in Zechariah 8:17 this, "And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, says the LORD."

5. Feet that are quick to run to evil,
The LORD JESUS does not only hate a heart that plots evil but the feet that carry out evil plans also, as said in Proverbs 1:16 this, "For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood."

6. The false witness who utters lies,
The LORD wants to remind us that we should not testify lies against our neighbors. Proverbs 14:5 says this, "A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness will utter lie." So let us refrain from speaking lies against anyone.

7. One who sows discord among kindred.
This is a reminder to those who cause disagreement among his/her brothers and sisters in CHRIST. The LORD JESUS wants us to be one just as He and the Father are One. So, the LORD JESUS hates those who cause division among the members of the church. 1 Corinthians 1:10 says this, "Now I beseech you brethren in the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

8. He dislikes gluttons and doubtful servants.
Proverbs 23:2 says this, "and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony." It is also said in James 1:6 this, "but when you ask, you must believe and not doubt because the one who doubts is like the waves of the sea blown and tossed by the wind."

Thank you so much, my dear reader for reading this simple piece of writing. May you be blessed abundantly with peace and hope as you learn and do the things that GOD likes and refuse to do the things that He dislikes. May you develop a strong love for the LORD too. I love you. God bless! To the LORD JESUS, thank You, LORD for inspiring and guiding to write this piece. May this bring You glory. I love You, LORD JESUS. Amen.

Is JESUS our GOD?

Have you ever asked yourself who JESUS is? And, have you ever wondered if He is our GOD?  If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. By the way, I used to believe that the LORD JESUS is just the Son of GOD and not GOD Himself. But, after attending some church services in a Christian Pentecostal church in college, I started to question who the real GOD is and what is His Name. Fortunately, last night that question was answered and revealed to me by the LORD JESUS. As I was reading an article about baby JESUS on the Bible app for kids which is called Superbook, I ran across a verse found in 1 Corinthians 12:3 which says tbis, "So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse JESUS, and no one can say JESUS is LORD, except by the HOLY SPIRIT." We can learn from this Bible verse that JESUS is our One and Only True Living GOD. And, no one can confess that He is GOD except when the person is guided by the Holy Spirit. On the other han...

The Gift of Salvation: The True Meaning of Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching and some people think Christmas is about receiving gifts. They think about the presents, the decorations, and the parties. They are missing out on what Christmas is really about. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. It's about knowing that the world is full of despair and knowing that there is someone out there waiting to save you. It's about not being alone. It's about waiting for someone to come and show you the true meaning of Christmas. And only JESUS has made the biggest move to save us from all the troubles that we experience everyday. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. This is the reason why the Christmas tree is decorated with evergreen and holly, because these plants represent eternal life. The Christmas tree is also decorated with other greenery because it represents the nature of the world. The Christmas tree is decorated with lights and ornaments, because they represent the light o...

What is JESUS’ will for us?

I spent my life looking for answers on what is JESUS’ will for me and what should I do with my life. I yearn for a happy, content and fulfilled life and I have this deep longing inside me for a better purpose. Until one night, while I was praying JESUS revealed to me His will. He told me that His will is to save us because He loves us so much. Check this verse in  1 Timothy 2:3-4 which say, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Since JESUS’ ultimate will is to save us, He wants us to receive His gift of salvation. We first have to believe that He died on the cross to save us from hell and sin. We should as well make a firm decision to turn away from sin and obey Him. Then we should establish a loving and faithful relationship with Him above others. Take note of this verse in Matthew 22:37-38 which say, “ And he said to him,   “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with a...
