10 godly steps to salvation

Are you interested in being saved and inherit eternal life in heaven? The good news is, the LORD JESUS already saved us by dying on the cross 2,000 years ago so that our sins may be forgiven; all we have to do is believe and serve Him. Listed here below are 10 steps to salvation that are found in the Bible.

1.) Believe, accept, and have faith in JESUS as your GOD and SAVIOR.
The first step to being saved is to acknowledge, believe, accept, and submit to JESUS' lordship. Those are the ways that help establish your faith. Now, you might ask, what is faith? How can we be saved through it? Hebrews 11:1 says this, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Now, what do we hope for? We hope that one day we will be united with JESUS in heaven and we will enjoy His company forever. We hope that in spite of our problems here on earth, the LORD JESUS can bring happiness into our lives and save us from our misery. What is meant by the assurance of what we do not see? It means that we firmly believe that there is an invisible GOD who governs the universe and JESUS CHRIST is His name. Also, faith for me means believing and accepting JESUS for who He is. He is our One and Only True Living GOD (read 1 John 5:20). So we should believe in this truth for it is in the Bible. The Bible is GOD'S Word and it is the truth (read John 17:17). For me faith is also believing, accepting, and obeying JESUS' Word or commands. Remember Abraham was considered to be a man of great faith because he obeyed JESUS when He told him to offer his son Isaac. Why should we obey JESUS? It is because He is a good GOD and He is faithful. Let us check this verse in Deuteronomy 7:9 which says, “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” In other words, He keeps His promises. Moreover, He also said in Matthew 11:30 that His yoke is easy and His burdens are light. So whatever trials and tests we face, we can rely on JESUS to help us get through it or overcome it (read 2 Corinthians 1:8-9); because He is good (read Nahum 1:7) and His plans are not to harm us but to give us hope and a good future (read Jeremiah 29:11). Since it is written in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please GOD for everyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists then faith means believing in GOD. So if we believe and accept that JESUS is our One True GOD we will be saved. John 3:16 says this, "for GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." In other words, those who believe in JESUS and trust in Him as their One True GOD and Savior will be saved. Acts 16:31 also says this, “They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Therefore, if we have a firm belief, trust, and loyalty to the LORD JESUS CHRIST as our loving and True Living GOD, who has offered His life for us, then we will be saved. Are you familiar with the penitent thief who was crucified along with JESUS? He asked the LORD JESUS to remember him in His kingdom and JESUS replied to Him that surely he will be with Him in paradise that day (read Luke 23:42-43). The penitent thief was saved because of His faith. He believed that JESUS is our One True GOD and the promised MESSIAH who can save him and give him eternal life.

2.) Repent.
It is written in 2 Corinthians 7:10 that repentance leads to salvation. Here is the verse, it says, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” What is repentance then? Repentance means turning away from sin consciously and turning to JESUS willingly as your GOD and Master. Since you have believed and accepted JESUS as your LORD and Master in the first step, you are humbling yourself down to be His servant who promises to stop sinning and obey Him. If you are willing to repent, first admit you are a sinner and willingly surrender yourself to JESUS and commit to turn away from sin and love and obey Him.

3.) Approach a Pastor and attend church service in good Christian Bible-based church in your area like Baptist or Pentecostal.
The LORD JESUS wants to have a relationship with us. He wants our love (read Hosea 6:6). So, to show Him that we love Him, we should listen to Bible-based sermons every Sunday so that our faith and love for Him will grow. Therefore, you should approach a Pastor in your area and tell Him you want to attend church service in their church.

4.) Hang out with good and loving Christians.
When you have attended church services in a born again Christian church you should hang out and have fellowship with good and loving Christians or your church mates also. They can influence you and teach you with godly ways thereby molding your character and attitude as a Christian.

5.) Read the Bible night and day and obey it.
The Bible is the instruction manual for all of us. It is GOD'S love letter to us that serves as our guide to life. Therefore we should read it and obey all the laws written on it. Obedience entails commitment, willingness, humility, and action. The LORD has promised to the Israelites after saving them from slavery in Egypt that if they obey His commands, they will be blessed (read Exodus 19:5). And, being saved and have eternal life is a great blessing the LORD JESUS has offered not only to the Jews but to all the inhabitants of this earth. If we obey His two greatest commandments that are to love Him with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength; and love our neighbors as well, we will be saved. Why, because obedience means staying away from sin and becoming persistent in doing good. Let us meditate on these verses found in Romans 2:6-8 which say, "GOD will repay each person according to what they have done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger." Therefore, let us do what the Bible says anyway all that is written in there are for our good and we will never regret doing it because the LORD will bless and save us.

6.) Be baptized.
Baptism is a sign that we are leaving our old sinful self and putting on our new self with CHRIST. Romans 6:4 says this, We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.In addition, The LORD JESUS says this in John 3:5, “Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

7.) Pray continually.
One best way to be saved is to pray to JESUS and ask Him to save you. A prayer is a form of communication that unites us to GOD. It is the foundation of a good relationship with JESUS. When we have a good, loving, and stable relationship with JESUS it means we obey and love Him. And, when we obey and love Him a reward of eternal life in heaven is waiting for us. We are being reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we should pray without ceasing, therefore let us pray continually. Tell the LORD JESUS that you need Him every moment of your life and that you love Him through prayer. When you pray, you need to listen to the LORD JESUS' reply too because prayer is two-way communication. If you do, you will grow in your knowledge, faith, and love of the LORD for the LORD will teach you the ways to eternal life.

8.) Make loving and glorifying JESUS your purpose.
It is JESUS' first and greatest commandment that we love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength (read Matthew 22:37). Therefore we should make loving Him our purpose and our focus. It is written also in Isaiah 43:7 that our purpose is to bring glory to JESUS. Glory means heavenly happiness and we can make JESUS happy if we love Him. One good way to show our love for Him is to obey Him. Let us check this verse in John 14:15, it says, “If you love Me, you will obey my commandments.

9.) Continue to do good.
Once we already have faith in CHRIST as our LORD and Savior, we should prove our faith by doing good. Remember the LORD wants us to let our light shine before others so they may see our good works and glorify Him (read Matthew 5:16). Therefore, let us obey the LORD JESUS' commands and be persistent in doing good because having faith alone and not proving it with good works is dead. Let us ponder on these verses found in James 2:14-17 which say, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Good works mirror our faith. It is the best proof that we are JESUS' children. Also, in the end, we will be judged according to our works (read Matthew 25:31-46).

10.) Declare publicly that JESUS is your GOD.
After having faith that JESUS is our One True Living GOD and repenting from your sins, you have also to declare publicly that He is GOD. Consider this verse in Romans 10:9-10 which say, If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” In other words, you should tell others also about your faith and your victories with the LORD JESUS. Testify before others that the LORD is good. Tell them of the good things the LORD JESUS has done for you. Do not be ashamed of the gospel so that the LORD JESUS will also testify about you before His Father in heaven. The LORD JESUS says this in Matthew 10:32, Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

So, now if you read this and you feel that you want to believe and accept JESUS, do not harden your heart. If you want to be saved now and have a closer relationship with the LORD JESUS, please don't hesitate to pray this sinner's prayer:
  • LORD JESUS, I believe that You are the One and Only True Living GOD. Thank You for loving me. Thank you for dying on the cross and rising again on the third day just to save me from sin. Please forgive my sins and cleanse me from all my unrighteousness. I repented my sins. I am now ready to love, serve, obey, and receive You as my Master. Please come into my heart and be my LORD and Savior. I love You, LORD. Amen.

If you prayed that sinner's prayer sincerely, congratulations! You are now ready for your new journey with CHRIST. Please seek a Pastor in your community and tell him you want to join in their church. Also read the Bible every night and day (Joshua 1:8) and do what it says. Then, fellowship with good and loving Christians. Thank you so much for reading this article, my dear reader. I love you with the love of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. LORD JESUS, thank You so much for inspiring me and helping me write this piece. I love You, LORD. All glory, honor, highest praises, and thanksgiving are Yours, LORD. Amen. By the way, if you have some questions, please feel free to leave a comment on here. Thank you.

Is JESUS our GOD?

Have you ever asked yourself who JESUS is? And, have you ever wondered if He is our GOD?  If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. By the way, I used to believe that the LORD JESUS is just the Son of GOD and not GOD Himself. But, after attending some church services in a Christian Pentecostal church in college, I started to question who the real GOD is and what is His Name. Fortunately, last night that question was answered and revealed to me by the LORD JESUS. As I was reading an article about baby JESUS on the Bible app for kids which is called Superbook, I ran across a verse found in 1 Corinthians 12:3 which says tbis, "So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse JESUS, and no one can say JESUS is LORD, except by the HOLY SPIRIT." We can learn from this Bible verse that JESUS is our One and Only True Living GOD. And, no one can confess that He is GOD except when the person is guided by the Holy Spirit. On the other han...

What is JESUS’ will for us?

I spent my life looking for answers on what is JESUS’ will for me and what should I do with my life. I yearn for a happy, content and fulfilled life and I have this deep longing inside me for a better purpose. Until one night, while I was praying JESUS revealed to me His will. He told me that His will is to save us because He loves us so much. Check this verse in  1 Timothy 2:3-4 which say, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Since JESUS’ ultimate will is to save us, He wants us to receive His gift of salvation. We first have to believe that He died on the cross to save us from hell and sin. We should as well make a firm decision to turn away from sin and obey Him. Then we should establish a loving and faithful relationship with Him above others. Take note of this verse in Matthew 22:37-38 which say, “ And he said to him,   “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with a...
