Eight advantages of praying to the LORD JESUS

When I asked the LORD JESUS about what topic to write the other night, He told me to write about the advantages of praying. If you are a firm believer and an obedient follower of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and have a strong faith and good loving relationship with Him, you might have experienced many answered prayers already. And I am sure that you can attest that these advantages that I listed below are true. But if you are not a believer yet, let me tell you the advantages of praying that I have learned in my Christian journey so you too can have faith and can make praying a habit. Here they are:

1.) Your need will be provided.
The Apostle Paul said this in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” So, Apostle Paul wanted to convey that whatever we need in a particular situation either guidance, knowledge, wisdom, forgiveness, healing, peace, joy, shelter, clothing, or food, we should just have to pray to the LORD JESUS and He will provide it; for He is the Source and Giver of every good thing. The LORD JESUS even said this in Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” The LORD JESUS assures us that He will surely feed us because we are much more valuable than the birds of the air which He as well feeds. We should just have to seek Him first and do what pleases Him and He will provide all that we need (Matthew 6:33).

2.) You will be comforted.
The LORD JESUS promised us in Isaiah 66:13 this, “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” It is clear that He will comfort us in our affliction if only we pray and ask Him. He also wants us to come to Him whenever we are tired and weary so He can comfort us as He said in Matthew 11:28 this, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

3.) You will have peace.
One of the LORD JESUS' servants named James wrote in James 5:13 that whoever among us is in trouble he should pray. Also, the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:6-7 that the peace of GOD which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds when we give thanks, pray, and lift our worries to the LORD JESUS. The LORD JESUS Himself promised us that He will give us His peace. Let me quote John 14:27 which says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

4.) You will be healed.
When we pray for healing we can be sure that the LORD JESUS will heal us because He is our Greatest Healer. He walked on this earth before healing the sick. He also promised us in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore the health of those who are sick. I can testify that what the LORD said in that verse is very true because He has healed me from all my sickness and depression many times. And, now He lets me enjoy the good health that He has given me. So, when you are sick just call on the name of our Mighty GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST and ask Him to heal you and believe that He will do it and you'll be healed.

5.) You can overcome temptations.
When our LORD JESUS CHRIST found His disciples sleeping after He prayed in Gethsemane the night before His crucifixion, He asked His disciples to keep watch and pray. Let me cite the verse in Matthew 26:41 which says, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The LORD JESUS was trying to remind His disciples to pray so that they will not be tempted. In other words, prayer is the best weapon against all temptations. He even taught us a prayer in Matthew 6:13 which says, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

6.) You will be guided.
The LORD JESUS reminded us in Proverbs 3:5-6 that we should trust in Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding in all our ways, we should acknowledge and ask Him for guidance and He will direct our paths straight. He also said in Psalms 32:8 this “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Therefore, in every decision we make we should the LORD JESUS for guidance for He will surely guide us as He promised.

7.) You will be happy.
Praying is communicating with the LORD JESUS. And, when you communicate with Him constantly, He will reveal Himself to you. Hence, you will feel His loving presence which will make you happy because, in His presence, there is fullness of joy (read Psalm 16:11). Let me quote Psalm 16:11 it says, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

8.) Your faith and relationship with the LORD JESUS will be strengthened.
The more you pray, the more you get to know the LORD JESUS. Once you know Him, you will develop stronger muscles of faith because you already know that He is good and you trust that He will help you with everything. Your relationship with Him also gets stronger since communication is the foundation of a stronger relationship. As they say, no relationship can exist without communication.

All in all, praying can benefit us in many ways. But always remember that whatever you ask when you pray believe that you'll have them and you'll receive them (Mark 11:24) as long as it is not against GOD'S holy and perfect will. Be reminded of this verse in James 1:6-7 which say, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” God bless you, my dear reader. May you believe that there is power in prayer and make praying a habit. I love you with the love of the LORD JESUS. To You Oh, LORD JESUS CHRIST, thank You for teaching me, guiding me, and for giving me wise advice. Without You, LORD I am nothing. I love You, LORD. Amen.

Is JESUS our GOD?

Have you ever asked yourself who JESUS is? And, have you ever wondered if He is our GOD?  If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. By the way, I used to believe that the LORD JESUS is just the Son of GOD and not GOD Himself. But, after attending some church services in a Christian Pentecostal church in college, I started to question who the real GOD is and what is His Name. Fortunately, last night that question was answered and revealed to me by the LORD JESUS. As I was reading an article about baby JESUS on the Bible app for kids which is called Superbook, I ran across a verse found in 1 Corinthians 12:3 which says tbis, "So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse JESUS, and no one can say JESUS is LORD, except by the HOLY SPIRIT." We can learn from this Bible verse that JESUS is our One and Only True Living GOD. And, no one can confess that He is GOD except when the person is guided by the Holy Spirit. On the other han...

The Gift of Salvation: The True Meaning of Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching and some people think Christmas is about receiving gifts. They think about the presents, the decorations, and the parties. They are missing out on what Christmas is really about. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. It's about knowing that the world is full of despair and knowing that there is someone out there waiting to save you. It's about not being alone. It's about waiting for someone to come and show you the true meaning of Christmas. And only JESUS has made the biggest move to save us from all the troubles that we experience everyday. The true meaning of Christmas is the gift of salvation. This is the reason why the Christmas tree is decorated with evergreen and holly, because these plants represent eternal life. The Christmas tree is also decorated with other greenery because it represents the nature of the world. The Christmas tree is decorated with lights and ornaments, because they represent the light o...

What is JESUS’ will for us?

I spent my life looking for answers on what is JESUS’ will for me and what should I do with my life. I yearn for a happy, content and fulfilled life and I have this deep longing inside me for a better purpose. Until one night, while I was praying JESUS revealed to me His will. He told me that His will is to save us because He loves us so much. Check this verse in  1 Timothy 2:3-4 which say, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Since JESUS’ ultimate will is to save us, He wants us to receive His gift of salvation. We first have to believe that He died on the cross to save us from hell and sin. We should as well make a firm decision to turn away from sin and obey Him. Then we should establish a loving and faithful relationship with Him above others. Take note of this verse in Matthew 22:37-38 which say, “ And he said to him,   “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with a...
