What is our purpose for living?

For me, seeking our purpose in life is the greatest human longing.  Without purpose, you have no direction and you feel like there is no reason for you to continue living. I have felt that before and have searched here and there for my purpose. Fortunately, after many years of finding my purpose, I found it in the Bible. The Bible is a rich resource where we can find our real purpose and meaning in life. So, the best way to find out our purpose for living is to search the Bible and understand GOD’s purpose for creating us.  We fulfill our purpose by aligning it to JESUS’ purpose and doing what He requires us to do.

The LORD JESUS created us to bring Him glory as reflected in Isaiah 43:7 which says, “They are my own people, and I created them to bring me glory.” Glory means heavenly happiness this also means that we should please JESUS. The first step to glorifying or pleasing JESUS is to have faith in Him. Having faith means believing in JESUS and being ultimately convinced that He exists and that we will live in heaven with Him someday even if we don’t see Him now. Hebrews 11:6 says, “for without faith it is impossible to please GOD.”  So, in order to please or glorify JESUS, we should have faith in Him first.

On the other hand, faith without works is dead as stated in James 2:26, we should as well show our faith through our works. Consider this verse found in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” We should love each other more and more and lighten each other's burden by helping one another with love and faith. We should share our food with the hungry. Not just that, we should also give clothes to those in need, give shelter to the homeless, help those who are in trouble and pray for the sick.

Good works are not only for our neighbors but also for the LORD. Praising and giving thanks to the LORD is also good works. With continuous praise and thanksgiving to Him, we are creating a loving relationship with Him. JESUS desires love from us (Hosea 6:6). Once we have accepted, believed and received CHRIST in our hearts, the Holy Spirit will change us and cause us to do the things that please JESUS.

The LORD JESUS is pleased and glorified when we submit to His lordship and love Him. We can show our love to Him by obeying His commandments found in Matthew 22:37-39, "JESUS replied: "‘Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ‘This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’.”

Just like two people who are deeply in love, we can express our love for CHRIST by committing our lives to love Him above anyone else. When we decide or do something, we should make sure that it will make JESUS happy, if not we should not bother doing it. In addition, we should spend time talking to Him in prayer and listening to His voice. Not just that, we should also tell Him we love Him and appreciate Him for all the good things He has done for us. We should as well delight in reading and applying His Words in the Bible.

The LORD JESUS is also glorified and pleased when we live a peaceful, holy and godly life. Check these verses in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

In conclusion, our purpose here on earth is to glorify JESUS. We glorify Him by loving Him and our neighbors. We can show our love to Him by obeying Him. So make loving and glorifying JESUS your purpose now and you’ll live a happy, fulfilling and content life. That’s my purpose and I am happier now. God bless, I hope your purpose is much clearer now. I love you with the love of the LORD.

What GOD likes and dislikes

While I was listening to the song "You are Holy (Prince of Peace)" by Michael W. Smith last month, I came across with the lyrics that says "You're the great I am". Upon hearing it, I forgot that the LORD is the Great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14) and I started doubting. But the LORD reminded me that it's Him and that I should not doubt Him because He dislikes a doubtful servant. So, to help you increase your knowledge of Him and know how to love Him, let me tell you the things that He likes and dislikes. Listed below are the things He likes and dislikes. 8 Things GOD likes 1. He likes us. It is said in John 3:16 that GOD loves the world. It means He loves or like us because we are His creations. He gave us His own breath for us to live. 2. He likes a cheerful giver. It is written in second 2 Corinthians 9:7 that GOD loves a cheerful giver. Therefore we should freely give and share whatever we have to our brothers and sisters that are ...

Best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love that JESUS taught me

Oftentimes we fell in love with someone who does not love us back either because they are not interested in us or is already committed to someone else. This kind of situation is heartbreaking. And, it is hard for our minds and hearts to accept the truth that we are not loved back. We kept on expecting and hoping that someday the person we love will reciprocate the feeling we have for them. But, the more you hope and expect, the more you become hurt until one day you find the courage to tell yourself, ‘this is enough I have to move on’. So, what are the best and the godly ways to move on from unrequited love? Here they are: 1. Believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and Savior. This is the first step to moving on. By doing this, your focus is shifted from the person you love, to the LORD. If you are not a believer or a Christian yet, you should first believe and accept JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR. You can pray this prayer: “LORD JESUS, I believe that you are the On...

Seven proofs that JESUS is GOD

I woke up this dawn feeling hungry, so I cooked some Ramen noodles and ate. After eating, I went back to bed to continue sleeping but I heard the Voice of the LORD telling me to write an article about the Seven proofs that JESUS is our One True GOD. So I prayed. I told Him that I am willing and His will be done and I asked Him to give me knowledge on what are those seven proofs that He is saying. These are the seven proofs that He gave me. 1. He created the world, us, and everything around us. Colossians 1:16 says this, " For by Him (JESUS) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: " See, it is stated clearly here that all things were created by Him and for Him. JESUS is our Creator. He is our Father and our GOD.  2. He is the Word. It is said in John 1:1 that , " In the beginning was the Wo...
